Merciana – 33% more beautiful

These were literally a last minute idea. Merciana and her husband Beat work upstairs from where I spend some of my days. I had the camera and she needed some updated shots of herself and daughters for an agent in a hurry. A bit of quick thinking, some clever lighting and I turned a corner into a temporary studio.

Merciana is about to show up in a series of adds for a local beer, keep your eyes open, they are quite humorous and she looks rather glamorous.

Sarah and Sam, Fun Portraits

It may be winter, but that doesn’t mean we can’t go out and enjoy some of the clear fine days we have been having.

These were shot on Location at North Head on Aucklands North Shore. With Sam leading the way we went right around the mountian, including a stop for some formals with his Grandmother in a slightly different kind of studio carved out of the hill near the tunnels.

Sarah has ordered a selection of 5 x 7.5 prints, several of which are being mounted on matt boards. Here is just a selection of the best:

Damian – Stuntman

Damian is well trained in a variety of martial arts and is off to study sports science and teaching next semester. He is looking for some part time work to support himself so a good friend suggested he have a go at stunt work.

He asked me to take some photos for him to put in a portfolio. Along with the usual headshot he was also asked to provide a body shot, and to have some fun we also did a few shots of him practicing his kicks. The power and speed at which he kicks is just amazing to watch, and a real challenge to photograph. If I need a body guard I know who I’ll call.

Valeria – Many Changes

Had an opportunity to shoot with the lovely Valeria again, this time in the Studio.

She bought along a huge range of different looks and ideas, when she isn’t modeling she would make a great stylist. These are some of the photos she choose for herself, I’ll add some of my own favourites from the day when I can.

Callum and Family Portraits

Had a wonderful Sunday afternoon last week with 9 month old Callum, his Parents, Auntie and Uncle, all four Grand Parents and Great Grand Mother.

After the traditional formal portraits Callum got to enjoy himself exploring the grass and winter leaves in Cornwall park in Auckland, then we had some fun climbing trees and sitting around the bandstand for some more relaxed and fun portraits. It was great to get four generations in one place and everyone really enjoyed themselves.

Bex, dark beauty

I meet Bex last sunday for a portfolio/portrait shoot around the slightly too popular old Auckland Railway station. It’s hard to find a local photograhper who has not shot here, so it was great to be able to work here, and be able to create something a bit new and different.

Bex is a fantastic model, moves and poses very naturally and has some great creative ideas. You can find her on modelmayhem: http://www.modelmayhem.com/mistressdelioncourt

Shooting Justin Flitter

Justin is a bit of a customer service Guru, runs www.justinflitter.com and also works for Zen Desk, a customer service software package.

Among his many other talents he juggles and knows how to have fun when he’s not being a customer service professional. I’m looking forward to shooting him fire juggling next time.

Enjoy the portraits
